William Hill Mobile Gambling Killing-off Telephone Betting

William Hill’s mobile Casino and Sports betting App have been swiftly attracting a sizeable number of users. However, with the drastic increase in the popularity of the mobile operation, William Hill’s telephone betting function has taken a hit.
It is widely publicised that mobile Sports betting and Casino Apps are seeing a monumental increase in popularity with both Casino players and sports fans, both in the UK and abroad. However, the once prominent telephone betting sector of the industry is seemingly becoming less and less essential to the average gambler.
This decrease in telephone operations has led Sports betting and online Casino provider William Hill to cut 65 jobs in the telephone betting department, stating that the increase in mobile Casino and sports betting has played a significant part in the decision.
In more positive news, however, the growth in the mobile sector has led William Hill to heavily promote its mobile Casino, which will be taking on up to 25 new members of staff to meet all of the additional business.
This is just another of the many signs in recent months that the improvement of mobile technology is driving Casino players and Sports bettors away from more traditional gambling activities to more convenient ones; in the meantime, telephone betting appears to be taking the biggest hit from the mobile drive, with many predicting the archaic method for placing a bet will become completely obsolete in years to come.
